Course Content
We will go through:
- How it works and differs from traditional project management
- The Team, Product Owner and Developers
- The Scrum Master: responsibilities, servant leadership and impediment removal
- Sprints (key to the framework)
- Sprint Planning, Daily, Sprint Review and Sprint Retrospective
- Artifacts: Product Backlog, Sprint Backlog and Increment. Purposes and links
- Commitments: Product Goal, Sprint Goal and Definition of Done (DoD)s
You will be able to recognize the various complexity levels in product building and necessary focus areas for each of them.
You will learn:
- The underlying reasons for using this framework in managing complexity (and the difference between complex and complicated problems)
- When it makes sense (or not) to use it
- Taking advantage of this Agile framework to succeed in complex contexts due to these essential pillars: transparency, inspection, and adaptation.
We will go in detail over the essential elements of incremental product development.
In this section:
- You will experience one of the most significant mindset shifts in transitioning from traditional product development to Agile product development
- You will understand the strategy used to build products incrementally while validating hypotheses
- You will understand through exercises this paradigm shift from the ScrumMaster viewpoint
We will identify team members' responsibilities, mindset, and anti-patterns.
You will learn:
- What is expected from each member
- The most critical cares you should have when maintaining healthy practices
- Agile teams' self-management and cross-functionality traits
- What you can do (or avoid) from your place to promote Agility and Scrum
When switching from a traditional to an Agile approach, there is a significant change in estimating and planning mindsets.
In this section:
- We will practice PBIs estimation
- You will understand how to carry out performance measurement from an Agile perspective
- You will be able to differentiate between results-oriented and output-oriented metrics
In this last stage, you will participate in a comprehensive exercise.
We will build a digital product where:
- You will establish the Product Goal (Product Goal)
- You will determine the Goal of each Sprint
- You will carry out the planning of the Sprint
- You will participate in the Sprint Review and get Feedback to evolve the product
- You will carry out a series of Retrospectives to improve the development process
- At the same time, you will understand the most critical details of the Planning, the Daily, the Sprint Review and the Retrospective
- You will learn what to take into account when facilitating these events, for example: purposes, participants, typical agendas, relationship with Stakeholders, durations, anti-patterns and frequent problems
What will you learn?

ScrumMaster's responsibilities and the four disciplines for everyday work to improve your ability to take action.
Differences between Agile and traditional leadership to better adapt to change, lead from a place of service and unlearn various leadership styles that impede adopting Scrum the right way.
Agile development's evolutionary planning, relative estimation of PBIs or User Stories, and Ametrics based on results.
What does Certified ScrumMaster mean and how can I become one?
By earning this credential, everything you've learned about team work will be challenged by Agility.

As a ScrumMaster, you'll work with the Product Owner, Developers, and the Organization, ensuring the fluidity in their work by removing organizational impediments.
In your day-to-day, you will work on Sprints. Sprints are fixed periods to build and deliver Product Increments that will be inspected by the Scrum Team and Stakeholders to learn from the feedback obtained.
In the meantime, as ScrumMaster, you should be aware of the purpose, dynamics, tools, and anti-patterns of the Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective (we discuss everthing on the course).
You will be key in each and every one of these meetings. You will be the facilitator, responsible for overseeing the process by which the other team members will make collaborative decisions.
Your responsibilities do not end here; as CSM you should also facilitate refinement activities with a large part of the team and Stakeholders, groups of people who generally think very differently, to bring agreements and shared decisions.
Great ScrumMasters learn this new way of leading by serving the Team and knowing all about Scrum, adaptive-control models, evolutionary product development, and facilitation. Still, they also pay close attention to unlearning many leadership behaviors that become obstacles to successfully adopting Scrum.
All those learnings will come along with your ScrumMaster certification.
